I am so disgusted, my boss always implies that I’ll get a promotion whenever she gets a new contract and she asks me to hire all of the new employees. I have traveled across state lines to recruit people and have staffed to date four contracts in three years time. Once my boss finds out that the contract can be self sustained she tells me that she “is pleased with the supervisors that I have chosen” and it seems as if they don’t need a manager just an onsite supervisor maybe next time. I am not even making 40K a year and I without giving away too much information let’s just say that my immediate duties NEVER end I am on call ALL OF THE TIME with no break. I have found out that some of her other employees are making 60K and above and only have a 9-5 contract hours. When my boss has a new contract I have always volunteered to help she has never had to ask and I never went into these projects with a “what’s in it for me mentality”. Am I just plain dumb for going into a project this way and should I tell my boss that I want to talk about compensation and a raise first before I take on a new project? At this point I am burned out and once again my boss is waving a possible promotion in my face but at the same time she was telling me that she is trying to find a way to pay the new supervisor on her latest contract something more because she has heard so many good things about her. WTF I have been here for over 10 years and this person just came aboard this week!!!! When I first started as a supervisor there were no training manuals, the staff did not have office policy and procedures set regarding office etiquette, breaks and customer service was not their first priority. I have implemented new procedures for customer service, training and recruiting new staff members with no help from anyone at home office. Since I have been here thanks to my efforts my boss has acquired four additional contracts based upon the reputation of my work. I have been researching the internet on tips how to approach one’s boss and ask for a bigger raise. I consider myself an “old school” person who believed that my hard work, dedication and respect for my boss would speak for itself and my boss would see the fruits of my labor and reward me accordingly the only thing that I am being rewarded with is stress and resentment for my boss and my job. I am starting to get a “just give me my paycheck mentality and leave me the f*** alone. This is what makes a good employee go bad! How can I approach my boss about my feelings and express my value to the company without sounding hostile or pathetic?

I use to love my job. I had a great job and everyone loved working here. Unfortunately my old boss retired and promoted a person who absolutely no business being a manager. Damn I hate this bitch. She does nothing except site on her fat ass in her office making double what I make when I am the one who works my ass off and don''t get paid jack shit for it.
She thinks that her position and a few others are better and more important than others. She is going to get quite a wake up call when I leave in a few months. God I want to tell her that I have something else lined up. This damn place won''t last a week without going crazy without me. I am not trying to toot my own horn, but in all honesty, there is not another person at this company who knows our software; I am the one who wrote the damn thing. I don''t think my position is any more important that any other position. Every position here is important.
And everyone else I work with are so damn lazy and incompetent. Do something for yourself for a change and quit relying on me to do everything. It''s a fucking job not a god damn daycare for your lazy asses.
God..... I don''t know what I am going to do. I just hope I can last the next six months without telling her to shove this goddamn job up her fat ass. I almost did two months ago. Just thinking about going back to work tomorrow is already getting me pissed off.
She just can''t realize that she is the damn problem as to why everybody is unhappy.
I bought some Liquid Ass off the internet a few months ago and am really tempted to douse her fucking car with that shit.
But I know she will get hers in the end. Karma will come back to bite her in her fat disgusting ass...

SHORT SELL BANK OF AMERICA (BAC) NOW!!!
IF BANK OF AMERICA STOCK FALLS BELOW $5 PER SHARE, RULES OF INSTITUTIONAL OWNERS MAY REQUIRE THEM TO SELL THEIR BAC HOLDINGS. THE OTHER DAY THE STOCK CLOSED AT $5.10, APPARENTLY REFLECTING THE SCRAMBLING BY SOME TO SUPPORT THE STOCK PRICE.
ACCORDING TO THE "SHORTSQUEEZE.COM" WEBSITE, 44.10% OF BAC IS HELD BY INSTITUTIONAL LENDS. WHILE SOME DO NOT HAVE THE $5 PER SHARE LIMIT RULE, THE SELL OFF OF BAC COULD BE MASSIVE IF THE STOCK GOES BELOW $5, SENDING BAC PLUNGING TO GREATER LOWS.
BAC HAS TREATED ITS CUSTOMERS IN INAPPROPRIATE WAYS FOR A LONG TIME. FRANKLY, I WAS ONE OF THOSE CUSTOMERS LIKE MANY OTHERS ACROSS THE US. IF BAC FELL, DEPOSITERS WOULD TAKE A LOT OF THEIR MONEY TO LOCAL BANKS, BANKS WHO ARE IN FACT LENDING AND SUPPORTING THE US ECONOMY. IT IS TIME FOR BAC TO GO!!!
SHORT SELL IT NOW. WHILE THE ELECTION IS OVER, YOU CAN VOTE BAC OUT WITH YOUR DOLLARS. EACH ONE OF YOUR DOLLARS IS A VOTE. EVEN IF YOU CAN ONLY AFFORD TO SHORT SELL A FEW DOLLARS OF THE STOCK IT COUNTS.
REMEMBER OBAMA GOT ELECTED BECAUSE MANY OF US SUPPORTED HIM WITH JUST A FEW DOLLARS. VOTE BAC OUT TODAY!!!!!

I''m 53 years old a little overweight been out of work since September 08, I''ve applied for over 220 different jobs in this time. Why do employers discriminate people that are older and blatanly lie to us ? I''ve done much in my career as my resume will show you. I want a career change and NO ONE WILL GIVE US A CHANCE. One would think that if we hire a more muture person we would benefit. I''m not a health risk, I''ve worked all my life. I''m very angry at the moment. I know they hire young un dependable peolpe so they can pay less wages. Even the GOODWILL INDUSTRIES, I thought they were here to help find jobs. No I''m not lazy or a slob just want to care for my family and a very Ill wife.

I was diagnosed by three doctors roughly 3 years ago with fibromyalgia, CFS and a host of other problems caused byt he first two. I applied for SSDI and was told that "Even though you cannot perform duties where you must sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop for more than 10 minutes at a time you are mentally competent and can do other work."
Ok......., So what other work can I do?! I was trained in clerical work and customer service! I spend most of my day laying on my back crying because I hurt. What work CAN I do? No one can answer this question. I have worked two jobs since I was 14 years old. I''m now 37 and have to rest for a half an hour after loading the stupid dishwasher. I have actually been laughed at on the phone when I give someone my limitations. (this was from an employment center) My clerical skills are outdated I have no idea what any of these new programs are that they use now. I can''t afford school and no longer have a car. (it was reposessed)
I have been denied by the SSA twice now. I''m waiting for a court hearing date.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I have a coworker who gets 10 days of paid vacation. In the last 6 months, she has taken 4 trips to LA and 1 trip to San Antonio. She also takes off many Fridays &/or Mondays. She has taken several "personal" days to go to the casino with her mother and to take her daughter car shopping. The higher ups seem to ignore it. How do some people get by with it? Do they have talents the rest of us are unaware of?

I work for a Real Estate firm as a Realtor. I go to my office about once every week to check my mailbox or for meetings--I work for home. My office manager is one of those sneaky, slick, undermining, untrustworthy, coniving, smiling in your face, stupid, clueless broads who smiles and pretends to be everybody''s friend when in actuality she is nobody''s friend. About once a month, this crazy broad will hand out leads. I have my own business so I really don''t need, nor have I ever gotten any business from, any lead she has given me over the last 2 yrs of my employment with this firm. My leads are $50k and less. Everyone else has leads at $125k and higher--they just happen to be white. I''d hate to think this stupid snatch is prejudiced. I''m Black...she''s Jewish. I''ve never had a reason to think this about her before and I certainly am not prejudiced--I have all beautiful colors of the rainbow in my family... but it''s just one of those things that make me go "hmmmmm??". The other thing is she says a lot of stuff that she shouldn''t say, that''s out of line, off limits, that''s none of her business, that she knows nothing about period! Then...she''ll laugh it off like it''s a joke and people are standing there feeling insulted and wanting to slap the ever loving peace out of her. Everybody licks her back side and keeps their cool because she''s co-owner of the company--not me. I keep my distance off that crazy bat. When she get''s up in my face with some crap, I let her know in a nice, professional way that what she said was stupid and could be misconstrued as fighting words. I don''t know if I can continue to bite my tongue as much as I do. I don''t want to tell her that she''s not an office manager/REALTOR--but more like a dingbat/dopey kind of moron. My satisfaction out of all this---and believe me this is satisfying, is that last year (2007) about this time she was on Jenny Craig getting slimmer and slimmer and I really thought she looked beautiful and she seemed really happy and in better spirits. She started dating again and has a boyfriend, whom she really likes right this minute. I thought that would change her. But instead, she''s back on Chili dogs, Lays chips, Knockwurst, and wine. She''s gained 50 lbs that she lost plus some and she looks like crap to say the least--and her health is not good. She''s wearing moo moo''s to the office everyday while she pisses people off with her stupid, idiotic words. Knowing that she''s a big, giant sow again really helps.

After working one day a week for 2-3 months, owner Rene went off on me. Why? Because a week before his head cook had a skateboard accident and caused
him to come home opening day of hunting season to fill in for the cook. What
does this have to do with me? I didn''t write home fries on a check! Also he asked
for help buttering toast and when I offered he said "NOT YOU" He got worked up
more and more and ended up firing me. I hadn''t lost a job since I was sixteen.
I was actually the longest waitress to make it besides the people already employed
there. I was warned about his hellish behavior and took lots of verbal abuse before
the episode ended. In the last year the help wanted sign has been out a half a dozen
times. Fair warning - do not apply for a position there because he is the rudest most
penny pinching dictator boss I have every seen. The food is good but the abuse makes
the whole restaurant a hell hole.

OK, I do watch the news and pay attention to what could and is going to happen. Watch the stock market and look at who we voted in again! That say''s it all. So when I was dragged into a meeting and told that I have to lay an emploee off I wasn''t supprised at all, actually I predicted it. What actually pissed me off more than anything is that my boss who thinks he knows everything really knows very little. He tells me who to lay off and meanwhile the person that he tells me to layoff is never late and is always there. A reliable team player, not perfect. He is not the one i would consider at this time to layoff. I have an emplyoee who is always sick, takes a lot of time off at this time of year but they won''t let me lay him off because he has been there way to long ......oh my god I just want to SCREAM ....talk about not having control. Who is running the circus? Other bosses out there if you read this you need to open your eyes and listen to your managers. That''s why you hired us. I understand about the money that we would have to pay out to get this person out but if an employee isn''t bringing value to the team and only causing more work load for others because of being absent that is the person I want to layoff.
Thanks for letting me Rant!
